Pondstock
Andy and Fletch were hanging out in the basement in the winter of 2001 when the topic of another summer party came up. Andy, who played guitar, and Fletch played keyboards. Some phone calls, e-mail, yakking over cocktails, and things started to take shape.
Andy's good friend Rick (Bass) and his brother-in-law JC (drums). Tom (neighbor and singer) brought in the concept of having a Seafood Boil for the party (something he picked up while living in New Orleans), he also brought Pio back into the mix (Voc, guitar) And so way born the first iteration of " The Roilin Boilers "
Interestingly enough, Pio also had a close relationship with a newly forming pro band from Louisville; The Accountants. Why not invite them up for the weekend. Yup, now we are cookin.
What should we call this party? Well, sort of like Woodstock (lots of jamming), and we have a nice Pond, Yup, Pondstock, had to be!
Well, since the accountants are coming, we need some stage. And of course, might rain, so better get a tent. This was the first year in Andys back yard.
Might as well spread the word and add more than just the usual friends. Well, you get the idea! things getting bigger and bigger. The wives became involved, and a few food tents with sides and desserts were added.
